A Journey into Serverless and Handling Step Function Failures

In this article, Andreea Merariu, Software Engineer @ The LEGO Group, embarks on an exhilarating journey as they explore a real-world use case that showcases the power of AWS Step Functions and how they can revolutionize the way workflows are designed and managed. Along the way, key takeaways emerge, highlighting the importance of continuous learning, leveraging the capabilities of event-driven architecture, ensuring observability in complex workflows, and adhering to data privacy regulations in sensitive data handling scenarios.

Tracking the Effectiveness of Cloud Adoption

Cloud adoption initiatives can be measured using Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to see if they're working well. But it's important to pick the right KPIs, not just easy ones like training hours or certifications, because those can give a false sense of progress. The KPIs should match up with what the organization actually wants to achieve, like improving software quality or speeding up infrastructure provision. Cloud adoption means changing how things are done, so it's important to adapt on-premises processes to take full advantage of the cloud. But it can be tricky to figure out what exactly to measure and how, because different organizations have different goals and needs.

Balancing Shift Left And Shift Right In Your DevOps Strategy

Shift Left and Shift Right are DevOps approaches for improving software quality and delivery by identifying defects early in the development process. Shift Left focuses on early testing and defect prevention, while Shift Right emphasizes testing and monitoring in production environments. In this blog, Ruchita Varma from Buildpiper discusses the differences between these two approaches.
